My purpose is to offer thoughts on a few topics that I have spent time delving into. These are personal opinions for discussion, not final answers – I am still learning too. I suggest joining the Facebook group “Protestant Reformed Discussions” and discussing these topics in that forum.
Healthy Discussion or Divisive Ranting? I realize some may be sensitive about this. During our recent “RPC Controversy” many took offense at the mere existence of the Sword and Shield magazine and some blogs that supported it. I understand, but I think free forums of discussion can be used for good. Scripture teaches that unity in the church should be our goal, but we will not achieve it completely in this life – disagreements are normal and do not need to be divisive (Rom 14: 1-12.) We cannot correct each other and grow if we cannot discuss our disagreements. I do not look at this blog as a place to vent disagreements but a way to help the church that I love. Please assume that if I disagree with my church on something, I will still acquiesce to church authority and I want other members to acquiesce as well.
